Johnstown, PA - (PHOTO: The 2025 Richland Post 849 56ers) In what had become a theme during the 2025 season, an undermanned 56ers squad outhit their opponent, but dropped the decision on the scoreboard 6-3 to St. Michael. The 56ers led by Talon Urbanek's two hits and rbi doubles by Donnie McEntire and Dylan O'Roark outhit St. Michael 8-6 but just didn't have enough down the stretch to turn back the Saints. Caden Robertson (Left) turned in a promising start for the 56ers, and held a 3-1 lead after three innings. 56ers Edge Bedford For First 2025 Victory
July 3, 2025
Bedford, PA - Despite playing with a skeleton crew the first three weeks of the season, the Richland Legion Post 849 56ers kept showing up game and game out knowing that if the entire squad were available, they could be a team to be reckoned with. The 56ers proved themselves right Thursday night as they had 15 players on hand and rallied from a 3-0 deficit to earn their first win of the season 4-3 over the Bedford Hurricanes. Lucas Turner (Photo Left) provided much needed punch in the middle of the lineup as his two run double in the fifth inning got the 56ers on the board. The 2025 Schedule is available on the Schedule Link at the top of the page and also on our GameChanger App under Richland Post 849 56ers. Cambria County American Legion Baseball Info and team stats, standings, and league leaders from this year and previous years can be found at Cambria County Legion Baseball.

Bedford went up 2-0 in the first inning on a pair of unearned runs. After that, the Hurricanes had trouble scoring thanks in large part due to the bullpen. Bradyn Jarvis (Photo Left) entered in the second and threw three solid innings. Jarvis allowed on run on two hits and fanned six. Jarvis also stole two bases and scored the game winning run on a Bedford error in the sixth inning. Complete box scores for each season, and 2000 - 2012 seasons, with season statistics, are available on the stats link at the top of the page. 2013 - 2019 statistics, scores, and other Cambria County American Legion Baseball Info and team stats, standings, and league leaders can be found at Cambria County Legion Baseball.

Turner then took over on the mound in the fifth inning and threw three scoreless frames to notch the win. Turner struck out four and walked one while allowing 0 hits and 0 runs. The defense also made a few clutch plays to notch the first victory. Brady Manges also chipped in two hits, while Erik Radkowski and Donnie McEntire each drew a pair of walks. Proof that when the entire team is available, the 56ers are a tough squad to beat.

July 2, 2025
Philipsburg, PA - The Richland Post 849 56ers went on the road Wednesday to take on the league leading Philipsburg Phils, and the result was nearly the same as Monday, this time dropping a 10-0 score. Adam Radkowski (Photo, left) turned in a strong two inning start allowing two runs, none of which were earned. Errors, walks, and outs on the bases once again led to the downfall. 56ers Fall To St. Michael in 2023 Playoffs
Friday July 7, 2023 - The Richland Post 849 56ers rallied from a 9-0 deficit to score seven runs in their final two at bats but just couldn't get past the league champs as they fell to St. Michael 9-7 Friday night. The loss ended a successful 2023 campaign which saw the 56ers field a team of five 19 year olds and a roster of youthful players who succeeded in getting the Richland Post 849 baseball team not only back onto the field, but back into the playoffs. 2023 was the first year the 56ers completed a season since 2019. Jonah Horner was effective on the mound for the 56ers Friday, allowed five runs, just two of which were earned runs. However the bullpen and defense couldn't hold which gave St. Michael an insurmountable lead.

Game 1 was played on Thursday at St. Michel (Forest Hills HS) and revealed a pattern that was ominous for 56ers fans. Starting pitcher Ethan Kaminsky allowed just three earned runs in five innings but the offense couldn't get anything going against the Saints and eventually dropped an 8-0 contest. Despite the playoff losses, the 2023 campaign saw several impressive performances. Cole Strick led the CCAL with a .577 batting average. Ethan Kaminsky was tops in the league with a 0.56 ERA and 25 Ks. Kyler Smith, Ty Stawarz, and Josh Fetchko provided veteran leadership. Newcomers Roman Fetzko and Jonah Horner also form a strong nucleus of returning players for 2024.

June 14, 2022 - The 56ers remain the only Cambria Legion team yet to play a road game but the home field advantage at Tony Penna Field didn't yield a win Tuesday as the hosts dropped a 6-2 contest to the unbeaten Bedford Hurricanes. Nate Conrad (pictured) rapped an RBI double and ELi Thomas also had an extra base hit to lead the offense. Richland also had singles from Lucas Oleksa, Cole Strick and Jake Polacek. The 56ers lack of offense spoiled another fine outing from Cole Strick who allowed three runs in five innings of work, while striking out five. Mike Preuss and Ty Stawarz also threw an inning apiece.

Joe McGowan had a spectacular 56ers' debut last Friday June 10th, as he rapped three doubles and went 5-for-5 against the Somerset Businessman (SBC) in a game that was suspended after 7 innings due to darkness. McGowan was instrumental in the 56ers' five run bottom of the seventh inning where the hosts tied the score at 12-12 before umpires suspended the game due to darkness. The game will be resumed later this season on a date to be determined when Richland once again matches up with Somerset.
